nifty gifty

Having a great time making a few nifty gifties for my upcoming babies!

With Rebecca in full swing as the Studio Manager, I’ve had some wonderful time to get back to my crafty roots.  I am a total fabric, yarn, twine, felt, paper and pencil junkie.  June has been enjoying being in on the fun too.  Her job is to pick out buttons that match the fabrics.  I remember doing projects like this with my mom and I want her to have those memories too.  I can tell that she has a creative side so it’ll be fun to see what kinds of things she likes.  Today at the fabric store, I saw her eyes light up and she grabbed handfuls of “fat quarters” and tried to put them on the counter for me to buy for her.

Back to Rebecca.  This last week was super busy with the move and I’m not sure what I would have done without her.  Those of you who have had the opportunity to schedule and work with her, I know you are appreciating her immensely.  At the end of last year, I was struggling to stay on top of my customer service the way I believe it should be done.  And, to a believer in treating my clients like gold, that’s a tough pill to swallow.  I needed about 3 more hours in every day.  Rebecca and I have been dear friends for about 9 years and I know she cares about my photography and believes in me more than anybody could imagine.  She just completed her masters degree in Public Administration and had been home with their baby, Genevieve.  So, I was beyond thrilled when she said she’d come to work for me.  Between the two of us, we have enough college eduction to certainly solve the world’s problems….just ask us.  But, we’re having more fun than two people should have at “work”.  And, our work culture still allows our families to be our priority…or our girls get looped into work which somehow ends up being fun for everybody.  It’s pretty great, I don’t mind sayin’.

This is Libby. She’s one half of the twin set of Libby and Eli. You can see Eli’s head sitting in the chair. :) I’ll be sharing more of their session very soon!
